Mulholland Saturday in the Sun

Filed under: Rides and Routes — Gnarley Spoke at 8:41 am on Monday, April 3, 2006

This posting highlights a great ride from Saturday where a bunch of us previewed some of the upcoming Mulholland Century route. We got in 70 miles and topped the majority of the whopper climbs. We passed on climbing Stunt on the way back due to lack of enthusiasm and didn’t want to spoil the enjoyment of the additional pain and elected to endure that at Centrury time.

Sunday Mulholland Short Preview

Filed under: Rides and Routes — Gnarley Spoke at 5:55 pm on Sunday, March 26, 2006

A very nice early morning preview of Topanga Canyon, Mulholland and Stunt. Just a prefect day. The Morrie express left at 6am, we were heading up the Canyon at 7:20. Had a bit of a mechanical with a Mavic spacer, but all was great. Especially the several hundred small, toasty garlic bread bits in Venice beach.

Watch the Spring Classics live on cycling.tv. This appears to be the future of niche television programming. There is a ‘mostly daily’ news show and the Premium version (only $20 for the year) that provides a few nice extras. OLN? 1 hour a week, eh?

Hello all! Just in case you are wondering what not to do at a criterium… Don’t hesitate as the peloton tries to catch the sprinters after a preme… Sometimes they don’t slow down again and you get popped off the back like a sack of old, smelly potatoes…

Great Party again this year! Thank you all for coming! Special Thanks to ‘CRAIG’ the great DJ! You’re the man!! Great job with your music system.

BTW. The manager at El Torito said that you can go to the restaurant and just tell them you belong to OCVelo and they will give you 15 to 20% off your meal.
